For many years armaments were made at the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield. The factory opened in 1916 and closed in 1968. The factory is most famous for the Lee Enfield Rifle. Today the site has a small museum which is run by the RSA Trust where more information about the factory can be found out. The Trust is a member of the Lea Valley Heritage Alliance
